The studentship will include payment of fees (at the UK/EU level) and an
annual bursary of £9585, renewable for a further two years. For students
paying the higher (overseas) tuition fee, the remaining tuition fees
payable will normally be deducted from the bursary award.

To be eligible to apply for a scholarship, a UK Masters degree in
Linguistics at merit level or better is required. Students currently
studying for a Masters Degree must be expecting to receive a merit or
better. Area of language specialisation is open but preference will be
given to students intending to work on an endangered language of Africa or
Asia.

In order to help those whose financial needs are greatest, these
fellowships are not available if you already have other major studentship
funding (apart from ORS).

Please note that you MUST have applied for a place at SOAS before you may
apply for the scholarship.

The final deadline for applications for 2005-2006 is Monday 16th May 2005.
