Description:

The School of English Literature, Language and Linguistics of the University of
Newcastle, UK, wishes to appoint a lecturer (= tenure-track Assistant Professor)
in linguistics with research and teaching interests in the field of language
variation and change. A PhD in Linguistics or English Language and proven
research potential are essential. Specific interests in the diachrony of English
and/or in synchronic variation (regional, social, functional) within
English-speaking communities are also essential. An additional interest in
either corpus linguistics or contact linguistics is desirable.

You will have completed your PhD recently and will have interesting
research and publications plans. A proven ability to teach at undergraduate
level is required. You will have the ability and enthusiasm to
- Contribute two undergraduate modules in the area of your research expertise
•- Develop one MA level module
