Description:
Le Département de langues, linguistique et traduction désire pourvoir un
poste en traduction de l'anglais ver le français, dans les domaines de la
traduction générale et de la traduction spécialisée. Les domaines de
spécialité recherchés sont notamment la traduction médicale, technique,
informatique ou économique.

Sommaire de la fonction
-Enseignement de la traduction anglais-français aux trois cycles;
-Direction d'essais, de mémoires et de thèses de doctorat;
-Recherche et publications;
-Participation aux activités départementales et universitaires.

Qualifications requises:
-Doctorat terminé ou en voie de l'être en traductologie ou dans une
discipline connexe;
-Bonne connaissance des milieux de la pratique professionnelle;
-Expérience de l'enseignement, de préférence en milieu universitaire;
-Recherche et publications pertinentes;
-Excellente connaissance du français langue maternelle et de l'anglais.

Traitement et conditions de travail : selon la convention collective en
vigueur.

The Department of languages, linguistics and translation is seeking to hire
a professor in English-to-French translation, both general and specialised.
Areas of specialisation include medical, technical, economic, or
computer-related translation. Duties include teaching French-to-English
translation at the undergraduate and graduate level, supervising master's
and doctoral essays and theses; research and publication; and participation
in departmental and university activities.

Qualifications:
-Doctorate (completed or in the final stages) in translation studies or a
related field;
-Experience in the professional practice of translation;
-Teaching experience, preferably at the university level;
-A record of relevant research and publications;
-Superior command of French as a native language and excellent proficiency
in English

Salary and working conditions are in accordance with the current collective
agreement.
Closing date: May 9, 2005
Starting date : July 1, 2005
