Description:

The Cognitive Science Program at the Informatics Institute of Middle East
Technical University, Ankara, Turkey is accepting applications for academic
positions at the Assistant and Associate Professor levels.

Responsibilities will involve graduate level teaching, advising, and conducting
an active research program that includes publication. By the time of appointment
the applicants need to hold a PhD in Cognitive Science or in a related area,
e.g. Psychology, Computer Science, Linguistics, Neuroscience, or Philosophy,
with a demonstrated interest in Cognitive Science. Successful candidates should
demonstrate a coherent research agenda and a record of relevant publications. A
research/PhD specialization in Cognitive Psychology is particularly sought. As all
instruction is in English, native-level competency in English is also required.

The Cognitive Science Program is a small research-oriented program with
interdisciplinary links to the university's Computer Science, Philosophy, and
Foreign Language Education Departments. Information about the program can be
found at http://cogsci.ii.metu.edu.tr. Middle East Technical University is one
of most successful state universities in Turkey in terms of research and
teaching. It is situated in a campus about 10 km from the city center. Most
incoming faculty will be entitled to low-cost, on-campus housing.
