Description:

Brandeis University, Interdepartmental Program in Language and Linguistics,
invites applications for a tenure-track position as Assistant Professor of
Language and Linguistics, starting September, 2006. We seek applications
from scholars with research and teaching interests in pragmatics,
discourse/information structure, sociolinguistics, language acquisition,
and/or linguistic typology.  Applicants should be able to teach a range of
introductory and advanced courses in formal linguistics. Ph.D. in
Linguistics is required. The successful candidate must defend a doctoral
dissertation no later than June 1, 2006. Send application letter describing
research program and teaching interests to the address below. Applications must
also include documentation of teaching experience (with a list of courses
taught), a CV, three letters of reference, and one article-length writing
sample. First consideration will be given to completed applications received by
