Linguists working in the theoretical framework of Generative Grammar are invited
to participate. 

16 th Colloquium on Generative Grammar

Abstracts can be written in any Romance language or English. The language used
in the abstracts and during the conference should be the same. Each paper
presentation will be 30 minutes, plus 10 minutes for discussion. We will also
accept a limited number of abstracts for two poster sessions. If the authors
want to submit their works only as either paper presentations or posters, this
should be stated clearly in their e-mail message to the organizers. Submissions
are limited to one singly authored and one jointly authored abstract per author.

Abstracts cannot exceed one page of text, with 2.5 cm. margin on all four sides
(measured on A4 paper). Font: Times New Roman, 12 point; SILDoulos IPA93 for the
phonetic symbols. Line spacing: single. Abstracts may include an extra page for
references and examples. Lay-out: First line: title of the paper (in bold).
Second line: author's name and e-mail address. Third line: affiliation. Fourth
line: blank.

Abstracts should be sent electronically only, as Word.doc or PDF attachments, to
uam16cgg at gmail.com (PDF format is required if the abstract contains special
fonts, such as phonetic symbols, or figures.) One copy of the abstract must be
sent anonymously and another one with the author's name, e-mail address, and
affiliation.

We are pleased to announce that the 4th Formal Approaches to Japanese
linguistics Conference (FAJL4) will be held on August 17-19, 2006 in Osaka, Japan.

- Junko Shimoyama (McGill University)

Submission Guidelines:

We invite abstracts for 30 minute talks (20 minute presentation + 10 minutes for
discussion) on any aspect of Japanese formal/theoretical linguistics. Papers
comparing Japanese with other languages are equally welcome. 

Abstracts must be anonymous, at most two pages long (including examples and
references) on a letter-size sheet (8''1/2 by 11'') or an A4-size sheet, with
one-inch margins and typed in at least 12-point font. 

We only accept electronic submissions. Please send your abstract in a PDF
format, with all fonts embedded. Document files (MS Word etc.) will not be
accepted. Submissions are limited to 1 individual and 1 joint abstract per
author. The proceedings of FAJL 4 will be published by MIT Working Papers in 
Linguistics (MITWPL). 

Electronic submissions should have the abstract as an attachment and the subject
header ''abstract'', and include all the author information listed below in the
body of the e-mail. The file name of the attachment must be the same as the
title of the abstract or a shortened version of it.
