Description:

The University of Pittsburgh, Department of Linguistics invites
applications for the position of Lecturer in Linguistics in the English
Language Institute, beginning July 2006, pending budgetary approval. This
appointment is outside the tenure stream. Applicants must have a PhD in
TESOL, applied linguistics or a closely related field that relates to
English as a Second Language. Competence in one or more of the following
areas is highly desirable: materials writing and/or testing, teacher
training, and classroom research. Preference will be given to candidates
who have both publications and expertise in program administration and
pedagogy. This is a 12 month, renewable appointment. Candidates should send
a CV, a statement of research and teaching interests, copies of 2 reprints
or other written work, and teaching evaluations (if available). Applicants
should arrange to have three hard-copy reference letters sent directly to
