Description:

The Faculty of Modern Languages and Literatures of the University of
Tuebingen/Germany invites applications for a (tenured) professorship
in Computational Linguistics.  The salary is at the rank of W3 according the
German academic payscale.

Candidates are expected to teach courses in all subareas of computational
linguistics.  A research specialization in theoretical foundations of
computational linguistics is required, including computational aspects of corpus
linguistics, grammar formalisms, logic, statistical methods, and paradigms of
machine learning.  The languages of instruction are German and English.

Applicants should hold a Ph.D. and a 'Habilitation' or equivalent
accomplishments in terms of publications.

If the successful candidate has not previously held a professional position at
the rank of professor, the initial contract will be for a fixed period. A
subsequent tenured appointment is contingent on a successful performance
evaluation.  Permanent appointments without tenure evaluation are possible,
particularly for applicants from abroad or for applicants holding positions
outside of academia.

applicants with the same qualifications and abilities.

publications, and a list of courses taught at university level.
