We'd like to remind readers that the responses to queries are usually
best posted to the individual asking the question. That individual is
then strongly encouraged to post a summary to the list. This policy was
instituted to help control the huge volume of mail on LINGUIST; so we
would appreciate your cooperating with it whenever it seems appropriate.

In addition to posting a summary, we'd like to remind people that it
is usually a good idea to personally thank those individuals who have
taken the trouble to respond to the query.

To post to LINGUIST, use our convenient web form at

Dear all,

I'm interested in finding and reading/discussing ways of using corpus
material in English Language Teaching.

If you are developing a corpus of English, I'm curious to know if and how
you think this material can be applied in the classroom.

If you have done/published any work on the subject, please email me a link
to your article.

I'll submit a summary to Linguistlist within a few days of the publication
of this query.

Thank you very much,
Yordanka Kavalova

Greetings,

As a student in linguistics interested in African languages, I would like to
know if any linguist ever created a ''Swadesh like'' list adapted to African
languages.

Thanks in advance,

Sandro Capochichi
