2nd Cambridge Italian Dialect Syntax Meeting. 

Call for Papers

We are very happy to announce that the 2nd Cambridge Italian Dialect Syntax Meeting will take place at the University of Cambridge on 26-27 January 2007. 
The study of the syntax of Italian dialects has gained more and more importance over the last few years. This meeting wishes to bring together linguists from diverse theoretical frameworks working on any aspect of the syntax of Italian dialects.

Submission Details: 

We strongly encourage electronic submissions, which may be sent to:

Abstracts are invited for 20-minute talks (plus 10 minutes for discussion) on any aspect of syntax of Italian dialects. The conference languages are English and Italian.

Deadline:
Abstracts (electronic or otherwise) should reach us no later than 31 October 2006. Speakers will be notified of the results of their abstract review by 30 November 2006. 

Abstract Guidelines:

Authors are asked to submit their abstracts as e-mail attachments (pdf or rtf formats are preferred, MS Word is also acceptable). The abstracts should include the title, but not author name(s). Title of the paper, name of the author(s), affiliation(s), address, phone number, and e-mail address should be included in the e-mail message.

Abstracts should be no more than two pages in length (including examples and references), in 12-point type. 

If you are unable to send your abstract via e-mail, please submit 1 anonymous printed copy plus a separate card giving the title of the abstract, author name(s), affiliation(s), and contact information. Mailed abstracts should be sent to:

I Dipartimenti di Italiano e di Linguistica dell'Università di Cambridge sono lieti di annunciare il secondo Cambridge Italian Dialect Syntax Meeting, che si terrà presso l'Università di Cambridge nei giorni 26 e 27 gennaio 2007.
Lo studio della sintassi dei dialetti italiani ha assunto in questi ultimi anni un ruolo di grande rilevo. Scopo dell'incontro è quello di riunire studiosi di sintassi dei dialetti italiani di ogni quadro teorico, per incoraggiare una sana e proficua discussione sui fenomeni sintattici dei dialetti italiani.

GLAC 13 will be held at Penn State. Papers may deal with any aspect of the Germanic languages (including English to 1500), synchronic or diachronic. 

Faculty, graduate students, and independent scholars are invited to submit abstracts for 20- or 30-minute papers (plus 10 minutes of discussion) on any linguistic or philological aspect of any historical or modern Germanic language or dialect, including English (to 1500) and the extra-territorial varieties. Papers from a range of linguistic subfields, including phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, sociolinguistics, language acquisition, contact, and change, as well as differing theoretical approaches, are welcome. 

Please submit a single-spaced one-page abstract (in .pdf, .doc or .rtf format) online at our website: http://www.psu.edu/dept/glac/. Include only a title but no author information in the abstract itself. All abstracts will undergo anonymous review. Submissions should be in pdf format if any specialized fonts are used.
