Description:

One-year visiting faculty position for a psycholinguist to begin in August
2007 in the Department of English, Linguistics, and Speech at the
University of Mary Washington. Assistant Professor (Ph.D.) or Instructor
(ABD required).  Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses in
introductory linguistics, upper-level introductory psycholinguistics, and
one or two additional courses in psycholinguistics (e.g. language
acquisition, speech processing, communication disorders, biological
evolution of language and speech, neurolinguistics, research methods in
psycholinguistics).  Most students in linguistics courses are majors in
English, with many students in psychology, education, languages,
anthropology, and interdisciplinary special majors in linguistics. 
One-year visiting faculty are eligible for benefits, faculty development
funds, and supplemental travel funds during the term of appointment. More

An hour from Washington, DC and Richmond, VA, the institution is a
state-supported, co-educational, liberal arts school, with a highly
selective admissions policy and a strong commitment to undergraduate
