The LINGUIST List strongly encourages employers to use
non-discriminatory standards in hiring policy. In particular we urge
that employers do not discriminate on the grounds of race, ethnicity,
nationality, age, religion, gender, or sexual orientation. However, we
have no means of enforcing these standards.

Job seekers should pay special attention to language in ads regarding
employment requirements and are encouraged to consult our international
employment page http://linguistlist.org/jobs/jobnet.html. This page has been set
up so that people can report on the employment standards of various countries.

has an opening for postdoctoral positions in the complex systems area. NICO is
an interdisciplinary research institute that enjoys membership of faculty from
a wide variety of departments in the physical sciences, social sciences, and
humanities. The research will focus on the modeling of dynamical processes and
network structure in natural, engineered or human systems. Candidates with a
background in theoretical modeling and experience with computer simulations or
data analysis are encouraged to apply. The ideal candidate will also have good
writing skills and familiarity with complex networks, a demonstrated ability to
conduct independent high impact research, and participate in interdisciplinary
