You may have noticed that over the last few years the face of Linguistics
Abstracts Online has been changing. Listed below are some of the new
features available for users of Lingusitics Abstracts Online.

Abstract Update
To insure that the all of the most recent abstracts are available, we now
update abstracts daily to our website.

Full Text
Links to full text of journal articles is available via CrossRef, and SFX
Open URL (where applicable).

Journal Information
We provide a list of all the journals covered by Linguistics Abstracts with
journal summaries and other information.

Individual Login
Individual users can now have their own login on the Linguistics Abstracts
website. Once an individual login is created individuals have access to
increased functionality like the Abstract List and E-alerts described below.

Abstract List
This allows users to select and save relevant abstracts in folders under
their personal login. The user can select abstracts to be emailed to
themselves or to a friend.

E-alerts
An E-Alert allows you to be notified whenever new abstracts are added to
the database. You can select which Subdiscipline(s) and/or Journal(s) you
are interested in receiving updates on.

Search Using IPA characters
Linguistics Abstracts has implemented E-MELD's CharWrite program which will
allow users to input IPA characters. Right-clicking on the field
(control-click on the Mac) will bring up a list of all characters which are
similar to the last letter you typed. Click on the character in the list
you want, and it will replace the last character in the field with the
character you selected. Double left-clicking (double click on the Mac) will
bring up an IPA chart which allows input of any IPA character into the
field. After inputting the IPA character a search can be performed for it
using Linguistics Abstracts new search function.

Individual Access
You can now access Linguistics Abstracts from your home using your own
personal username and password, if you to belong to an institution which
subscribes to Lingusitics Abstracts. If you do not belong to an institution
that subscribes to Linguistics Abstracts you can receive individual access
through Linguist List Plus.
