Description:

Aptima's mission is to enhance the synergy between people and technology.
We are seeking imaginative, creative, flexible individuals interested in
applying their strong analytic skills and knowledge of human language
technologies to real-world design challenges in a variety of military and
non-military domains. 

Aptima currently has an opening for a Scientist or Engineer interested in
working on a wide variety of applied projects related to topics such as
Statistical Modeling, Human Language Technologies, Natural Language
Processing (NLP), Machine Learning, and Computational Linguistics. 

Minimum Requirements:
- Doctorate or Masters degree in Computer Science, Cognitive/Experimental
Psychology, Cognitive Science, Computational Linguistics, or a related field 
- Ability and willingness to travel 
- Excellent written communication skills 
- Excellent verbal communication skills 
- U.S. Citizenship 
- Ability to obtain Secret security clearance 

The ideal candidate will also have at least three of the following:
- Proficiency in machine learning techniques
- Proficiency in statistical NLP techniques and technologies
- Proficiency in application and evaluation of technologies that utilize NLP
technologies
- Proficiency in relevant development languages (C,C++, C#, LISP, Java)
- Proficiency in information extraction and retrieval
- Proficiency in cognitive modeling

Aptima will compensate applicants for any travel or relocation expenses to
fill this position. All applicants must be willing to work in one of
Aptima's office locations Monday through Friday (no telecommuting or
compressed schedules).
