Bibliographie Linguistique was published by Springer, Dordrecht. BL 2001
contains 21,579 linguistic titles on the languages of the globe, written in
English and about 50 other languages. For more information, turn to
Springer Verlag at www.springer.com.

It is the general policy of the BL editorial team to focus on less common
languages and on publications outside the English speaking world.

Greetings!

On behalf of the Fishman Family, we invite you to attend a one-day symposium at
the University of Pennsylvania on Sunday, September 10, 2006 in celebration of
Joshua A. Fishman's eightieth birthday. We are also assembling an album of
greetings and short narratives honoring Fishman, to which we hope you will
contribute, even if you cannot attend the symposium.

The symposium, to be held from 9:30 am to 5:00 pm, will feature a keynote
address by Nkonko Kamwangamalu of Howard University, a panel of three up and
coming young scholars continuing the tradition of Joshua A. Fishman's
scholarship, and a cross-generational panel of three scholars who draw
inspiration from his work. In addition, two volumes will be presented in honor
of Professor Fishman. A lunch reception will be held from 12:00 to 1:30 pm.
The full program is included below. For more information about the Symposium visit
