This is the second call for submissions to the conference on ''Mulitlingualism across Europe'' organized by the Institute for Specialised Communication and Multilingualism at the European Academy Bozen/Bolzano (Eurac) of Bolzano from 24th to 26th of August 2006.

Conference theme Interdisciplinary Perspectives on Multimodality: Theory and Practice.  Conference site: the Faculty of Economics, the University of Pavia 

The Third International Conference on Multimodality (theme Interdisciplinary Perspectives on Multimodality: Theory and Practice) will be held at the University of Pavia, Italy on May 25, 26 and 27 2006 organized by the Dipartimento di Lingue e Letterature Straniere Moderne and held in the Faculty of Economics: see the Conference website: www.multimodality.it. 

The deadline for the second call for papers is February 28. The Conference is organised into seven subject areas (''strands''): this specialist approach is reflected in  the organisation of plenaries, parallel sessions and sections in the Conference publication (which will sent free of charge to delegates 1 year after the conference). The Conference is particularly suited to Ph.D students as well as those taking their first steps in this field as, given the small number of delegates envisaged, there will be many opportunities to interact with specialists in the various field of multimodal studies.  Pavia is a historic university town with a compact campus close to Milan and with excellent road/rail/airport connections and other facilities.
