To anyone who will contribute to this survey,

I am a visiting scholar from Central South University, China, in the Department
of Applied Linguistics at Portland State University.

I am conducting a research project concerning communicative behaviors. This
survey is part of the project. The outcome of this study will benefit people's
understanding in intercultural communication. It is done anonymously and your
contribution to this study would be highly appreciated. Answers to many
questions in this survey may be quite subjective. Please read each question and
respond with the first answer that comes to your mind. It may take you 20-30
minutes. Please send back the completed copy to me at: pdx01820 at pdx.edu. Thank
you very much for your kind help.

I would be especially grateful if you could forward the questionnaire to anyone
who you think may be interested and willing to participate in this survey.
