Meeting Description:

The International Conference on Advances in Oral Literature Research (AELO35) in celebration of the 35th Anniversary of Spanish Department at the University of Belgrade.

The central topic of the conference will be 'Theoretical and Practical Contributions to the Field of Oral Literature Study'. The main purpose of the conference is to present advances made in the field of oral literature research, with emphasis on interdisciplinary and comparative studies and on Hispanic and South-Slavic oral traditions. 

The conference programme will be organized around Plenary Sessions and Simultaneous Sessions for presenting papers and meetings of researchers. Besides, a Round Table with the title ''Future of Oral Literature Study'' will be organized. 

Official languages of the conference will be English and Spanish.

Simultaneous sessions will deal with all topics related to Oral Literature Study, with emphasis on: 
- stability and change in oral traditions  
- epic discourse versus ballad discourse 
- the role of memory in oral literature  
- oral improvised discourse and literature 
- discourse analysis of oral literature 
- oral literature (orality) and national identity 
- reception, transmission and diffusion of oral literature texts 
- oral performance aspects in MCing (hip hop, rep, drum'n'bass etc.)
- Internet and oral literature 
- relations between communication media and oral narrative tradition 

Colleagues interested in participating at the International Conference on Advances in Oral Literature Research should: 
- send the Registration Form before June 24th, 2006 
- send their abstract before July 24th, 2006 
- pay the registration fee before September 24th, 2006. 

All the abstracts will have to go through a formal evaluation before the papers can be included in the Scientific Programme of the Conference. All the accepted abstracts will be published.

Individual papers will be allotted 20 minutes of presentation plus 10 minutes for discussion. Only papers presented by its authors will be included in Scientific Programme. All presented papers will be published in the Conference Proceedings.
