Subject: Spoken Corpora Summer School

Dear Colleagues,

A summer school dedicated to SPOKEN CORPORA will take place in Nantes,
France, on June 19-24, 2006.

The program is on our website : http://www.lettres.univ-nantes.fr/lling/elco

The focus is on the complete process of spoken corpora compiling, from data
collecting to sharing and diffusion on the web. Ethical, juridical and
practical issues will be broached, as well as theoretical problems
(adaptability of methods to various language situations, the units of
spoken language, etc.). Technical tutorials on software will also take place.

Our aim is to provide a full training session for researchers interested in
collecting, compiling and making available spoken corpora, in various
languages.

The official language of the school is French.

(Extended) deadline for registration is April 15 2006. The registration
form is downloadable from the website. Registration fees range from 150 to
350 euros (classes, lodging and meals included).

Best regards,
the organizers, Amina Mettouchi and Anne Lacheret-Dujour
