Description:

The Faculty of Linguistics and Literature invites applications for the
position of a full professor (German W3-level) in Theoretical Computational
Linguistics.

The successful applicant is expected to represent the field of Theoretical
Computational Linguistics, including its application for the modelling of
natural language systems, in research and teaching. This includes primarily
grammar development and grammar implementation both for sentence grammar
and for discourse and dialogue grammar.

Expertise in several of the following areas are a prerequisite:

- mathematical properties of grammar formalisms
- formal languages and automata, especially weakly context sensitive
models, tree automata, and finite state technology
- the formal treatment of non-monotonicity and underspecification at
different levels of grammar
- cognitive modeling
