Description:

The Department of Phonetics and Linguistics at UCL is looking for a
lecturer in syntax with a strong commitment to world-class research. The
ideal candidate has some years of postdoctoral experience and a record of
high-quality publications commensurate to the stage of their academic
career. He or she will contribute to the department's research, teaching,
supervision and administration.

Applicants will hold a doctorate in syntax and have the ability to develop
a program of original research that enhances the departmental research
portfolio and that can give rise to PhD projects and applications for
postdoctoral fellowships.

The position, which will be available from 1 August 2007, is a permanent
one, but there is a three-year probationary period. The appointment will be
made at grade 7 of the UCL Salary range.

Salary range UCL scale 7: £ 29,138 - 33,799 plus £ 2497 London Allowance,
dependent on experience. Appointment on a higher scale may be possible for
an exceptional candidate.
