Description:

The project will investigate the syntax/prosody interface of focus 
constructions in a language or variety chosen by the candidate or the syntax/
prosody interface of questions in a language or variety chosen by the 
candidate. 

The competition is open to any applicant with normal UK residence who holds 
a first or upper second class honours degree in linguistics or a cognate area. 
Successful candidates will enroll as of January 2007, on a full-time 
programme of research studies leading to the award of the degree of Doctor 
of Philosophy.

All studentships will comprise fees together with an annual stipend of 
£12,300, and will be awarded for a period of up to three years subject to 
satisfactory progress.

The closing date for receipt of completed applications is the 8th of 
December. Interviews will be held in December.
