Description:

The Department of Linguistics at Yale University expects to make an
appointment at the assistant professor level in the field of Computational
Linguistics and Natural Language Processing, with particular attention to
the computational modeling of cognition in the domain of language and
related faculties, effective as of the academic year 2007-2008. Candidates
at the junior level should be assured of completing the requirements for
the Ph.D. by the summer of 2007 at the latest. Particular consideration
will be given to candidates with broad scholarly interests, including
qualifications in one or more of the core fields of Linguistics, or in
related areas of Cognitive Science such as Language Acquisition or
Psycholinguistics.

Applicants should send a current CV, two or three representative pieces of
research, evidence of teaching experience, and the names of potential
references. Please do NOT have letters of recommendation sent to us before
we explicitly request them: such unsolicited letters will be disregarded in
the appointment process. We hope to interview potential candidates at the
annual meeting of the Linguistic Society of America in Anaheim, CA in
January 2007, and additional applications may be submitted at that time.
