Description
Silver Creek Systems seeks a senior software engineer with experience developing
applications incorporating computational linguistics and AI technologies to join
its Engineering team.  This person will cooperate with other developers to
augment existing Silver Creek Systems software and develop new technology to
expand our line of automated product data quality, governance, and integration
solutions.  

Silver Creek Systems offers next-generation data quality software that's built
from the ground up to adapt product data to the requirements of today's
customer-driven sales & supply chain requirements.  This is a unique opportunity
for a bright, energetic, innovative engineer to work with an outstanding
development team on a breakthrough software product, serving marquee customers.

The Silver Creek Systems' Engineering team has a proven track record of
delivering high quality products.  The engineer will work as an integral member
in a RAD team consisting of software development engineers alongside QA, Product
Management, and Customer Solutions. Effective communication and collaboration is
essential to the engineer's success.

Responsibilities
-Cooperate with other development team members to design and implement new
software or to add or modify functionality of existing software.
-Work primarily with the natural language understanding engine and related
components, including tokenization, parsing, and classification algorithms, and
engineered knowledge infrastructure.
-Develop a thorough understanding of the existing software architecture,
functionality, and implementation, and help maintain existing software.
-Help evaluate and implement improvements to software performance or inference
quality.

Professional Qualifications
-M.S. or better in Computer Science or related field of study.  
-7+ years as software engineer.
-Strong analytic and problem solving skills.
-Excellent communication and teamwork.
-Ease with reading, understanding, and maintaining an existing codebase.
-Training and experience in efficient algorithm design.
-Training and experience in computational linguistics, artificial
intelligence, or compiler design.
-Experience developing applications involving understanding and
manipulation natural language.
-Strong object orientation programming experience, especially with Java.
-Work experience in a RAD environment.
-Startup mentality:  proactive, optimistic, flexible, adaptable, willing to
be extremely hands-on.
-Be eligible to work in the United States.
