Description:

The Northwestern University, Roxelyn & Richard Pepper Department of Communication Sciences 
and Disorders is searching for a faculty member, at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor, 
with a promising or established research program on child language with an emphasis on 
disorders, learning, acquisition and/or processing, with a vision to pursue a program of 
translational research. Areas of particular interest include, but are not limited to: specific language 
impairment, autism, Down's syndrome, cochlear implants, and emerging literacy. This nine-month 
tenure-track position is based on the Evanston campus.  Preferred starting date: September 1, 
2007.  Duties: Development of a fundable program of research, teach courses in child language 
disorders and related topics, direct student research, and provide academic advising.  
Qualifications:  Earned Ph.D. required. The candidate must have interests and experience required 
to teach courses in the Department and develop interdisciplinary research affiliations with other 
units of the University.   Salary: Competitive, depending on qualifications and experience.
