Support Engineer
 
Description:
The Support Engineer works as a specialist on the front line, supporting
our fast-growing customer base in the use of SDL and TRADOS enterprise
products. 

What does the position involve? 
As part of our Enterprise Support team in Leuven, you will: 
-Provide real time responses to our customer inquiries
-Interact with our customers via electronic channels and telephone
-Ensure continuous monitoring of customer issues until they are resolved
-Provide technical account management for strategically important accounts
-Work closely with development to diagnose bugs and provide patches to
customers
-Perform additional tasks like testing, providing training, software deployment
-Act as a global team member that contributes to solutions and customer
satisfaction
-Adapt to a fast-paced and changing technical environment
 
Is your background in one or more of the following areas?
-Degree in computational linguistics, computer science or
translation/linguistics with a focus on computer-assisted/machine
translation and/or terminology management
-Experience working in technical support, customer service or call center
-Experience in the localization industry
-Initial experience with Windows networks and their administration
 
Qualifications:
-Verbal and written fluency in English
-Verbal and written fluency in Dutch and/or French; additional language
knowledge like Italian, Spanish or German is an asset
-Excellent skills in problem solving and analytic thinking
-Excellent skills in communication, negotiation and conflict management
-Self-motivated and resourceful
-Preference for working in a cooperative world-wide team environment
-Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn new technology
-Ability to work under high-pressure environment
-Good knowledge of common file formats (DOC, RTF, HTML, XML and DTP formats
such as FrameMaker and InDesign)
-Good knowledge of Windows operating systems (NT, 2000, XP and their
respective server versions)
-Experience with SQL Server and Oracle and their respective management
tools is an asset
-Experience with Internet Information Services, Apache Tomcat and their
management tools is an asset
-Experience with computer-aided translation software - ideally with TRADOS
and SDL tools - is an asset
