Papers are invited on any topic in Theoretical Linguistics and Applied Linguistics.  Presentations will be 20 minutes long (in English) followed by a 10-minute discussion period.

Abstract Guidelines:

PDF files are preferred, but abstracts may be sent in plain text, Word, or RTF formats. If you use any nonstandard fonts, PDF format is required.  Abstracts should be no longer than one page in 12-point font, with an optional second page for examples, figures, tables, or references.  Please do not include any author information in your abstract, but provide the following information in the body of your message:

a)	Title of paper
b)	Author's name(s) and affiliation(s)
c)	Email address
d)	Mailing address and phone number

Electronic submissions should be sent to the following addresz,with the abstract as an attachment to your email message.

Only one abstract from each individual as a first author can be considered for acceptance.  One individual abstract and one jointly authored abstract may be submitted.  Abstracts that do not conform to the guidelines cannot be considered for acceptance.

The 8th International Conference on the Structure of Hungarian (ICSH8) will be organized jointly by the Linguistics Program of The Graduate Center of The City University of New York (CUNY), the Department of Linguistics and Communication Disorders of Queens College (CUNY), and the Department of Linguistics of New York University (NYU), in Manhattan, on May 24-26, 2007. 30-minute presentations (followed by 10 minutes for discussion) will make contributions to our understanding of the structure of the language and/or the structure of linguistic theory, drawing on any aspect of the morphology, phonetics, phonology, syntax, semantics, pragmatics, psycholinguistics, sociolinguistics, neurolinguistics or historical linguistics of Hungarian.

Call for Papers

Invited speakers: 

Csaba Pléh (Technical Institute / Hungarian Academy of Sciences, Budapest), Donka Farkas (University of California, Santa Cruz), and Péter Siptár (Eötvös Lóránd University / Research Institute for Linguistics of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, Budapest).

Abstracts are solicited for 30-minute presentations (plus 10 minutes for discussion) that make a contribution to our understanding of the structure of the language and/or the structure of linguistic theory, drawing on any aspect of the morphology, phonetics, phonology, syntax, semantics, pragmatics, psycholinguistics, sociolinguistics, neurolinguistics or historical linguistics of Hungarian.

Anonymous, maximally two-page abstracts (in a font no smaller than 11pt.), written in English, should be submitted as PDF attachments to an E-mail message addressed to:

structurehungarian at gmail.com

The subject line of the E-mail message should read: ''abstract''. In the body of the E-mail message, please provide the following information: (1) the full title of the abstract; (2) the name(s) of the author(s); (3) the affiliation(s) of the author(s); (4) the contact information of the author(s).

The deadline for submission of abstracts is: October 28, 2006.

Authors will be notified of acceptance of their abstracts in December 2006.
