Description:

The School of Languages, Literatures, and Cultures at the University of
Maryland invites applications for a tenured or tenure-track position in
Second Language Acquisition at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor
level, beginning August, 2008, contingent on funding. Candidates should
have strong publication records, with a primary focus on cognitive
dimensions of adult language learning, and the ability to teach graduate
level courses in one or both of the following areas: 

(a) assessment/measurement and L2 research methods, and 
(b) the psycholinguistics of instructed learning. 

A research interest in one or more languages other than English is desirable.

For best consideration, applicants should specify the rank at which they
are applying, and submit a letter of application, including a short
description of their current research plans, a CV, and contact information
(only) for three referees, by October 15, 2007, to the SLA Search Committee
at the application address listed below.
