Meeting Description

The 1st Patras International Conference of Graduate Students in Linguistics will
be held at the University of Patras (March 28-30, 2008).
The aim of the conference is to bring graduate students together, from all over
the world. It addresses to graduate students (MA and PhD) in both Theoretical
and Applied Linguistics. The official languages of the conference are English
and Greek.

Deadline extended

The postgraduate students in Linguistics of the University of Patras are
organising the first Patras International Conference of Graduate students in
Linguistics (28th-30th March, 2008). The conference addresses to graduate
students (MA or PhD) from all over the world who wish to present original
research in any field of linguistics (phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax,
semantics, pragmatics, historical linguistics, discourse analysis,
sociolinguistics, psycholinguistics, computational linguistics, lexicology,
lexicography, language acquisition, language teaching, etc.).

Meeting Description

The theme of the conference is Multilingualism. It subsumes cross-linguistic
typological studies, linguistic variation and language change in contact
situations as well as studies relating to bilingualism and to second and foreign
language learning. The 23rd SLC welcomes abstracts for presentations from all
areas of Linguistics including, but not limited to multilingualism.
