Meeting Description:

Learner Corpus Research: From Corpus Design to Data Interpretation

The aim of the Summer School is to introduce learner corpus research through a
series of lectures, workshops and hands-on sessions. It is intended both for
researchers who have recently embarked on a learner corpus project and those who
simply want to know more about this exciting field of research.

>From 10 to 14 September 2007, the Centre for English Corpus Linguistics
(University of Louvain) will be organising a Summer School on Learner Corpus
Research: From corpus design to data interpretation.

The following questions will be discussed:

-	How to collect a corpus?
-	How to annotate a corpus?
-	How to analyse the data? (with particular emphasis on phraseology)
-	How to interpret the data?

In addition, parallel workshops will be organised on error-tagging and on topics
to be determined in function of participants' interests.

It will take place at the University of Louvain (UCL), in the elegant and modern
city of Louvain-la-Neuve, 30 km south of Brussels.
