Description:

Stony Brook University's Department of Linguistics invites applications for
a one-year visiting position at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin
Fall 2007. Candidates should have an active research program in Second
Language Acquisition, Bilingualism, or a closely related field and the
ability to teach Second Language Acquisition and Bilingualism at the
graduate and undergraduate levels, as well as other courses in linguistics,
for a total of two courses per semester.  The successful candidate will be
expected to contribute to the professional and intellectual life of the
Department, complementing existing strengths.  Preference will be given to
candidates who will have completed the Ph.D. by September 2007. 

Applicants should provide a CV, a representative research sample, evidence
of teaching ability, and three letters of recommendation. For fullest
consideration, application materials should arrive by February 5, 2007.
