Description:

The Department of Applied Linguistics invites applications for two PhD
positions in Linguistics (half BAT IIa).  The positions will start on April
1st 2007 or ASAP after this date, and continue for a period of three years,
with a possibility of extension.
 
Task: 
The two research areas are (1) language processing with L2-learners and (2)
bimodal bilingualism. The successful candidates will be required to write a
dissertation, to attend international conferences, to publish and to teach
undergraduate and post-graduate courses in their area of specialisation. 

Essential Requirements: 
•	Masters degree or equivalent in Linguistics (positions 1 & 2)
•	Expertise in language processing (1) 
•	Expertise in generative syntax (1 & 2)
•	Experience in designing and analysing psycholinguistic experiments (1)
•	Expertise in Sign Linguistics, bilingualism (2)
•	Basic knowledge of a Sign Language (2)
•	Strong command of English (1 & 2)

Desirable requirements:
•	Near-native command of German (1 & 2)
