The Institute of Ancient Near Eastern Language and Civilizations at Peking University and CAENO Foundation have the pleasure of inviting everybody interested in early writing systems to a conference in Beijing, October 5-7, 2007. 

The conference will address several areas of interest:
1)	Lexical texts
2)	Proto-Cuneiform, proto-Elamite and related schemes
3)	Comparison of cuneiform writing systems to early Chinese scripts
