Meeting Description:

The 9th International Conference on the Statistical Analysis of Textual Data
will be held in Lyon (France), on March 12-14, 2008. This biennial conference,
which has constantly been gaining in importance since its first occurrence in
Barcelone (1990), is open to all scholars and researchers working in the field
of textual data analysis; ranging from lexicography to the analysis of political
discourse, from information retrieval to marketing research, from computational
linguistics to sociolinguistics, from text mining to content analysis. After the
success of the previous meetings, the three-day conference in Lyon will continue
to provide a workshop-style forum through technical paper sessions, invited
talks, and panel discussions.

Papers and presentations  can be  made in  any one  of  the following languages:
English,  French, Italian, Spanish. No translation will be provided.

Submission instructions:

Submissions should be limited to new and original work. All papers
should include background survey and/or reference to previous work
pertinent to the topic.

Participants wishing to submit a paper or present a poster should
transmit the following information by October 15, 2007:
- the title of the proposed paper or poster
- the names; affiliations and full mailing address with fax and e-mail of the
authors
- keywords
- the full text of the communication (8 pages recommended, 12 pages maximum)
- an abstract in the chosen language
- an abstract in English (maximum: 300 words)
- the bibliographical references

Authors are encouraged to use the conference style sheet provided on the site.
Technical instructions for the transmission of papers are specified on the web
site (http://www.jadt.org), in the corresponding section. Notification of
acceptance will be sent to the authors by November 27, 2007.

The final version of the paper must be conform to the conference style sheet and
be sent to the committee no later than December 20, 2007.

Presentations:

Paper presentations will be limited to 20 minutes each. A short presentation of
the posters by their authors will be given in dedicated plenary sessions.

Proceedings:

All the accepted papers to JADT 2008 will be collected and issued as proceedings
to the participants at the start of the conference. Note that in JADT
conferences, the distinction between posters and communications concerns only
oral presentations. The texts corresponding to the accepted posters will be
included in the proceedings. Since 1998, the proceedings of the JADT conferences
are systematically published online on the following website:

Les   journées  internationales   d'analyse  statistique   des  données
textuelles  (JADT)  réunissent tous  les  deux  ans,  depuis 1990,  des
chercheurs travaillant  dans les différents domaines  concernés par les
traitements automatiques  et statistiques de  données textuelles. Elles
permettent aux participants de présenter leurs résultats, de confronter leurs
outils et leurs expériences.

Les 9es journées internationale d'analyse statistique des données textuelles
JADT 2008 réuniront  à l'Ecole normale supérieure Lettres et sciences humaines 
 de Lyon (France), du 12 au 14 mars 2008, statisticiens, linguistes,
sociologues, spécialistes d'analyse du discours, informaticiens, spécialistes de
lexicographie et de fouille de textes.

Langues autorisées pour les présentations:

Les présentations pourront se faire dans l'une des langues suivantes:
français, anglais, espagnol, italien. Aucune traduction simultanée
n'est prévue.

Modalités de soumission:

Les articles soumis devront décrire un travail original et novateur.
Les contributions devront contenir un état de l'art et des références à
des travaux antérieurs pertinents.

Les participants souhaitant soumettre une communication orale ou une
communication affichée  (poster) doivent transmettre par voie
électronique avant le 15 octobre 2007:
- le titre de la communication;
- les noms, affiliations et adresses complètes (+fax, email) des
   auteurs;
- les mots-clés;
- leur communication (longueur conseillée 8 pages, 12 pages au
   maximum);
- un résumé dans la langue de communication choisie;
- un résumé en anglais (300 mots maximum);
- les références bibliographiques.

Il est recommandé aux auteurs d'utiliser la feuille de style mise à disposition
sur le site. Les modalités de transmission des soumissions sont précisées sur le
 site (http://www.jadt.org), dans la rubrique correspondante. Les notifications
d'acceptation seront envoyées aux auteurs le 27 novembre 2007.

La version finale de la contribution devra utiliser la feuille de style
et parvenir au comité au plus tard le 20 décembre 2007.

Présentations orales:

La durée  des présentations  est de 20  minutes. Les  posters donneront
également lieu à une brève présentation orale en séance plénière.

Actes:

Les actes des JADT 2008 rassemblant la totalité des contributions acceptées 
seront distribués à tous les participants au début de la conférence. Depuis 
1998, les actes des colloques JADT sont systématiquement mis en ligne. Ils
