We'd like to remind readers that the responses to queries are usually
best posted to the individual asking the question. That individual is
then strongly encouraged to post a summary to the list. This policy was
instituted to help control the huge volume of mail on LINGUIST; so we
would appreciate your cooperating with it whenever it seems appropriate.

In addition to posting a summary, we'd like to remind people that it
is usually a good idea to personally thank those individuals who have
taken the trouble to respond to the query.

To post to LINGUIST, use our convenient web form at

Dear list members,

On June 28, I posted a query on translation evaluation and received several
e-mails for participation in the evaluation. Mr Israel Cohen gave me very
helpful suggestions and I revised the former one and put it on the
internet. For the Intelligibility Evaluation part of the translated English
texts, if you are a native speaker of English and willing to help with the
evaluation, please go to: http://www.webpoll.org/guest/INTELLIGIBILITY.htm,
and if you are a native speaker of Chinese, please go to:
http://www.webpoll.org/guest/FIDELITY.htm
for the Fidelity part which examines the extent to which the translated
texts contain the same information as the original Chinese texts.

The evaluation will take you about 30 minutes. If you have any
suggestions, please mail me at liyueyuely at gmail.com .

Thanks very much for your time and help.
Li Yue
