Description:

Concordia University's Department of Classics, Modern Languages, and
Linguistics invites applications for one tenure-track position in
Linguistics. Applicants must have a PhD in Linguistic Theory, with a
specialization in Formal Semantics, an active research profile, and
demonstrated excellence in teaching. Other desirable areas of expertise
include knowledge of an older Indo-European language, syntactic theory, and
morphology.

Applications must consist of a cover letter, a current curriculum vitae,
copies of recent publications, a statement of teaching
philosophy/interests, a statement of research achievements, and evidence of
teaching effectiveness.  Candidates must also arrange to have three letters
of reference sent directly to Dr. Brad Nelson at the address listed below.

Subject to budgetary approval, we anticipate filling this position,
normally at the rank of Assistant Professor, for July 1, 2008. 
Appointments at a more senior level may also be considered.   Review of
applications will begin immediately and will continue until the positions
are filled.  All applications should reach departments no later than
November 1, 2007.
