Meeting Description:

The Fifth Celtic Linguistics Conference will take place at the conference centre
of the University of Wales, Plas Gregynog, Newtown, Powys, Wales, from 7th to
9th September 2007. The conference welcomes papers focusing on any area of the
linguistics of the Celtic languages. 

Second Call for Abstracts

Abstracts are solicited for 30 minute presentations (followed by 10 minutes of
discussion) in any area of Celtic linguistics. Invited presentations will be:

- Virginia Gathercole (University of Wales, Bangor): Input, Language Dominance,
and Semantic, Syntactic, and Cognitive Effects: Evidence from Welsh Bilinguals
- Jim McCloskey (University of California, Santa Cruz): Case in Irish
- Tonio Green (University of Potsdam): How many short vowel phonemes are there
in Irish?

Submission Procedure:

We invite submissions of abstracts of up to two A4 pages in 11pt or larger font.

The Department of Literature, Area Studies and European Languages, 
University of Oslo, is pleased to announce the 12th Sinn und Bedeutung 
Conference taking place from Thursday, September 20, through Saturday, 
September 22, 2007 at the University of Oslo. 

The Department of Literature, Area Studies and European Languages at the
University of Oslo is pleased to invite submissions for the 12th Sinn und
Bedeutung Conference (SuB12), to be held 

September 20-22, 2007

at the University of Oslo. 

In addition to invited talks by Henriëtte de Swart, Markus Egg, and Irene Heim,
we invite submissions devoted to natural language semantics, pragmatics, the
syntax-semantics interface, psycholinguistic studies related to meaning, or the
philosophy of language. 42 papers will be selected for 45 (35+10) minute
presentations.
