Description:

The Department of General Linguistics of the Institute for Language and
Information at the Heinrich Heine University in Duesseldorf, Germany, seeks
to fill a Junior Professorship (W-1) with a specialist in phonetics and
phonology. Applicants should also have done research on a non-Indo-European
language. The initial appointment is for three years, with the possibility
of additional three years. The position begins 1 October 2007, and the PhD
must be granted by that date. The position involves teaching in the BA and
MA programs. Some courses will be given in English, others in German. The
teaching load is 4 hours/week per semester.  The appointee will be expected
to have an active research program and to participate in interdisciplinary
research projects.
