'Opening the Dialogue Between Us' 

We would like to extend a most welcome invitation to you to participate in the
1st National Seminar on Speech, Language Disorder: Assessment and intervention
in the Indian Context, which is being held in Berhampur, Orissa 16-17 July 2007. 

Manovikas (GEMM) contemplates to organise a series of Speech, Language Disorder:
Assessment and intervention in the Indian Context seminars to set up a frame
work and manual for the developments of tools and techniques appropriate to the
local conditions and requirements. 
Both the seminar and the Institution provide important forums for the exchange
of research and ideas relating to all aspects of normal and disordered speech,
language and their assessment and intervention. 

Who should attend: speech-language pathologists, audiologists, speech
scientists, medical practitioners, psychologists, linguists, neuropsychologists,
neuroscientists, teachers, special educators and researchers. 

Papers/abstracts will be published in the series by Manovikas (GEMM): details to
be announced soon. 

Last date of submission of abstracts: 1st September 2007.

Foreign Language-Medium Studies in Tertiary Education: Opportunity for Language
Learning and Gateway to European Mobility.

The seminar will discuss the effect of FL-medium instruction on adult students'
language learning in academic contexts, the need for language teacher
intervention, optimal language attainment in FL-medium learning environments and
the issue of promoting FL-medium teaching units in universities and polytechnics. 

Proposals for papers (20 minutes) are invited in the topic area of this seminar
(for more details, see conference information /Program Announcement). 

Deadline for submitting the abstracts (max 300 words):
11.6. 2007.

Acceptance notification: 18.6. 2007.
