Meeting Description

The International Conference on the History of Language Sciences has taken place
every three years since 1978. Papers relating to any aspect of the history of
language sciences are welcome. 

Second Call for Papers

The 11th International Conference on the History of the Language Sciences,
ICHoLS XI will take place at the University of Potsdam from 28 August to 2
September 2008. 
We request that you send your abstracts (max. 300 words) to the following
address by 31 August 2007: ichols-xi at uni-potsdam.de
An academic committee consisting of Anders Ahlqvist (Galway), Cristina Altman
(San Paulo); Ricardo Escavy Zamora (Murcia); Lia Formigari (Rome); Jean-Marie
Fournier (Paris); Gerda Haßler (Potsdam); John E. Joseph (Edinburgh); Clemens
Knobloch (Siegen); Jan Noordegraaf (Amsterdam); Savina Raynaud (Milan) and
Sergej Romashko (Moscow) will decide on the acceptance of papers to be
presented. You will be notified of the committee's decision regarding the
acceptance of your proposal in December 2007. 
Please follow the instructions for registration to the conference which will be
posted on the ICHoLS website. If possible, please register before 1 April 2008.
Sylvie Archaimbault (CNRS - Paris VII), David Cram (Oxford), Clemens Knobloch
(Siegen) and Daniel J. Taylor (Lawrence University, Appleton) will hold plenary
lectures at the conference. 
Contributions pertaining to all areas of the history of language sciences are
welcome. Papers can be presented (30 minutes, 15 minutes discussion) either in a
section or in a thematic workshop. If you want to contribute to a workshop,
please send your abstract both to the following address and to an organiser of
the specific workshop.
