Description:

Director of French Basic Language Program, University of Illinois at
Urbana-Champaign, full-time, non-tenure-track. The position is renewable
beyond three years contingent on funding and periodic satisfactory
performance reviews. Duties and responsibilities include training and
supervising graduate teaching assistants, maintaining a methodologically
coherent lower-division language curriculum, and working with departmental
faculty in program sequencing/articulation. 

Teaching load:  
Four courses per year (two per semester). Near-native proficiency in French
and English required. PhD in French with specialization in foreign language
pedagogy, applied linguistics, or related field required by starting date
of August 16, 2008.  

Salary:  
Commensurate with qualifications and experience. Full consideration will be
