Assistant Professor of Applied Linguistics
Department of Languages, Literatures, and Cultures
Illinois State University, Normal, IL

The Department of Languages, Literatures, and Cultures at Illinois State
University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position in
Applied Linguistics at the rank of Assistant Professor. The ideal candidate
will hold a PhD or be ABD in applied linguistics with demonstrated
expertise in instructional technology preferred. S/he should have a solid
scholarly agenda and documented teaching experience in one or more of the
following languages:  French, German, Italian, Spanish. Normal teaching
load is five courses per year (2/3 or 3/2), and may include undergraduate
and graduate courses in instructional technology, language pedagogy,
applied linguistics, and advanced language. The successful candidate must
be authorized to work legally in the United States by August 16, 2008, the
start date of the position. To assure full consideration, send letter of
application, curriculum vitae, copy of graduate transcript (original
transcript is not required for application) and three letters of
recommendation to Dr. Daniel Everett at the address given below. Email
