1st Osnabrueck Summer School on Recent Trends in Linguistics: Theory, Model, Method 

The University of Osnabrueck summer school ''Recent Trends in Linguistics:
Theory, Model, Method''  is open to advanced graduate students of English
linguistics and postgraduates from all over the world interested in broadening
their linguistic knowledge beyond their own field of research and familiarizing
themselves with recent trends in linguistics. The annual summer school, which
will take place in 2008 for the first time, is intended as an introduction to
one linguistic model, one theory, and one method each year. In 2008, these are
going to be Construction Grammar (theory), Language Acquisition (model), and
Corpus Linguistics (method). Workshops are taught by: Graeme Trousdale,
University of Edinburgh (Construction Grammar), Michael Barlow, University of
Auckland (Corpus Linguistics), and N.N. (Language Acquisition).

The Osnabrueck summer school is unique in that it is not thematically fixed, but
offers state-of-the-art-introductions to the latest linguistic trends and
thereby provides orientation for young researchers.

The three main topics of the summer school 2008 will be complemented by
additional evening lectures, in which scholars from different areas of expertise
provide insights into their research.
