Description:

Inform Technologies is seeking a detail-oriented, research-savvy individual
with strong general knowledge and information management expertise. The
Categorization Analyst will work within a Categorization Team that employs
editorial and statistical techniques to properly classify news content. The
Analyst will be responsible for client-focused projects across the
categorization system to enhance client category results. As a member of
the Categorization Team, the Analyst will also be responsible for ongoing
upkeep of the categorization system, continually developing our
hierarchical taxonomy and entity extraction systems. Must be able to take
initiative and work independently, as well as work as part of a dedicated
team. A strong interest in current events is key. Salary based on
experience. All interested parties are encouraged to apply. This position
requires strong computer skills, but no programming experience.

Primary Job Functions Include:
- Completing individual and team projects efficiently within client-driven
deadlines.
- Maintaining precision and comprehensiveness of categorization products.
- Improving the efficiency and accuracy of the categorization system.
- Keeping up-to-date on current events.

Qualifications:
- Understanding of linguistic ambiguity and a creative approach to
problem-solving.
- A background in Linguistics, Information Science or a related field is
preferred.
- Must have a BA/BS with 1+ years of experience, or an MLS/MLIS/MS
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Understanding of editorial standards and exceptional attention to detail.
