For those interested in Soqotri MSA language, South Arabian folklore and
its language, unwritten and endangered languages, sociolinguistics.

An article named ''Temethel As The Brightest Element Of Soqotran Folk
Poetry'' (pp. 241-249) by Vladimir Agafonov saw print in the just published
Folia Orientalia Journal, vol. XLII-XLIII, 2006-2007, Krakow, Poland.

The article describes the genre of temethel and its significance in Soqotri
folklore, gives a general classification of its items with relates examples
in Soqotri and English translation, discusses facts connecting with these
poetry pieces appearence beginning from the old traditional verses till
those composed in 1970s. All the Soqotri material studied was recorded by
the author in 1976-1980 on the island of Socotra.
