We'd like to remind readers that the responses to queries are usually
best posted to the individual asking the question. That individual is
then strongly encouraged to post a summary to the list. This policy was
instituted to help control the huge volume of mail on LINGUIST; so we
would appreciate your cooperating with it whenever it seems appropriate.

In addition to posting a summary, we'd like to remind people that it
is usually a good idea to personally thank those individuals who have
taken the trouble to respond to the query.

To post to LINGUIST, use our convenient web form at
http://linguistlist.org/LL/posttolinguist.html.

For a study on intelligibility, acceptability and appropriacy of different
varieties in teaching college level English in China (replica and expansion
of a previous contrastive L1-L2 study with native varieties only -
Kunschak, 2004), I am looking for volunteers willing to record a 2 min
sample of their voice on their mp3 player or computer and send it to me.
Topic: My daily routine.

I am particularly interested in well-researched L2 varieties like Indian
English, Nigerian English or Singaporean English but would like to include
some FL/L3 varieties from around the globe as well. In order to control for
gender, which turned out to be highly significant in my previous study, I
am looking for a male and a female sample per variety.

If you would like to contribute, request further information or know of a
distribution list that would be more appropriate, please contact me at

claudia.kunschak at azalumni.com

Thank you for your interest!
