Description:

The Pro*Doc "Sprache als soziale und kulturelle Praxis" (Language as social and
cultural practice) is a doctoral programme launched at the Universities of
Basel, Bern and Zurich and supported by the Swiss National Science Foundation
(SNSF). The programme comprises an educative module (AM) and a research module
(FM). It starts as of Autumn Term 2008 and runs for a period of three years. The
following positions are open:

8 doctoral student positions (50% each) for the three research modules (FM)

The doctoral positions require a Licentiate or Masters Diploma in a linguistic
field; they are allocated in Basel, Bern or Zurich depending on the organisation
of the research module. The doctoral positions are as of September 1st 2008.
Employment conditions are according to SNSF conditions and the respective
