Meeting Description

The Russian State University for the Humanities plans to hold a young
researchers conference on various issues in syntax.

The conference is not limited to any framework or any particular topic and
encourages participants with different linguistic backgrounds working on
languages of different families to submit abstracts of their work in formal
syntax and typology as well as theoretically and typologically oriented
descriptive works.

Syntactic Structures 2
Conference of Young Researchers

The Russian State University for the Humanities plans to hold a young
researchers conference on various issues in syntax.

Submission Guidelines

An author may submit at most one single and one joint abstract for a 20 minute
presentation (plus 10 minutes for discussion). Abstracts should be at most 2
pages in length (including examples and references), submitted in PDF, RTF or
TXT format, 12-point font, with 2.5 cm margins throughout. Anonymous abstracts
should be emailed to syntax.msk[at]gmail.com. Please include the author('s)
name(s), affiliation('s), contact information and the title of the abstract in
the body of the email.

This year the Fourth Formal Semantics in Moscow (FSIM 4) workshop will be held
right after the Syntactic Structures 2 on April 5--6 at ABBYY Production. This
will allow people to attend both of the conferences. The workshop welcomes any
presentation on the field of formal semantics and formal pragmatics of natural

Meeting Description

The Society of Linguistics Undergraduates of McGill (SLUM) is hosting its second
annual McGill's Canadian Conference for Linguistics Undergraduates (McCCLU). The
aims of the conference are to promote undergraduate research and to foster the
growth of the undergraduate linguistics community. 

Call for Papers

Undergraduate students from any country interested in participating are
encouraged to submit an abstract for a 20-minute talk with a 10-minute question
period on any topic pertaining to linguistics. Students may also submit an
abstract for a poster on any topic relevant to linguistics at our poster session
to be held during the conference. Abstracts should be a maximum of one-page in
length and should be submitted online to mccclu2008 at gmail.com by Monday February
25th, 2008. Please indicate whether you would like to be considered for a
20-minute talk or for the poster session or both.
