The Journal of English Linguistics publishes original linguistic research
based on data drawn from the English language, encompassing a broad
theoretical and methodological scope.  We aim for author notification of a
publication decision within 3 mos. of submission.

Highlighting theoretically and technologically innovative scholarship, the
Journal provides in-depth research and analysis in a variety of areas,
particularly

- History of English
- English grammar
- Corpus linguistics
- Dialectology
- Sociolinguistics

Also welcome are articles drawing upon other theoretical perspectives or
written on other topics provided that the focus is on data drawn from 
English and the intended audience is not overly specialized.

Manuscript Submissions: 

Submissions should be prepared according to the Unified Linguistics Style
Sheet, with endnotes. All editorial correspondence should be addressed to
Anne Curzan and Robin Queen at jengl at umich.edu. 

For all submissions, authors should send an electronic file, preferably in
Word or .pdf format, as an email attachment or on a disk. For submissions
with specialized fonts or other graphic materials, manuscripts should be
submitted as a .pdf file.  Manuscripts can also be accepted in hard copy,
in which case, authors should submit three formatted print-outs. 

Submissions undergo double-blind review.
