Description:

The Linguistics Department, Memorial University of Newfoundland, is seeking
to make a 12-month appointment at the rank of Assistant professor,
effective 1 August 2008, subject to budgetary approval. Qualifications: PhD
(or near completion) in Linguistics with specializations in phonology and
language acquisition, ideally with good knowledge of acoustic phonetics; a
demonstrated record of effective teaching at the undergraduate and, if
possible, graduate levels; and evidence of an active research program. 

The successful applicant will be expected to teach a range of courses in
phonology and acquisition at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, to
undertake graduate supervision, to maintain an active research program, and
to contribute to the administrative duties of the department.
